PLASS COTTAGE was built in the 1700s offering charm and down-to-earth comfort. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a sleeping alcove on an enclosed porch that can be made private, antiques and wide-board flooring. Its perfect for a family of 4, from a 2 night stay to a several month stay and is completely self-serve with a full kitchen, living/dining room, enclosed porch, washer/dryer and a private stone court with water garden for outdoor dining. It also features air-conditioning, heating, wireless Internet, phone for US calls, flat screen cable TV/DVD, stereo and outdoor dining.2. THE PORTICO SUITE is all luxury with a marble portico and bath with a 2 person marble shower. Filled with antiques and a king size bed, guests have a panoramic view of their private outdoor sanctuary through large windows and french doors that open onto the private portico. The Suite features volume controlled music on the portico and inside the suite. The marble portico is furnished with antique wicker and is ideal for lounging and enjoying music, bird watching and strolling in a private tree lined yard. The Portico features wide-board flooring, 12 foot tall ceiling, air-conditioning, a flat screen cable TV/DVD, refrigerator, coffee maker and a dining area for two.3. THE BUNGALOW is a quaint residence perfect for 2 people with two twin beds, a beautiful outdoor sitting area, full bath with an antique claw foot tub, antiques throughout, wide-board flooring, Southern pastoral views, refrigerator, coffee maker and flat screen cable TV. 4. THE HAYLOFT offers rustic charm with a balcony/deck overlooking forests and barnyard of farm animals and garden. It has two twin beds, antique siding inside and out, a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bath with a shower. It has a unique sliding patio door that opens behind an old fashion barn door to allow the entire interior to be filled with light, or you can open it up wide to create a breeze way.THE COUNTRY SIDE: The complex also includes private areas such as the main house, an 1850 Greek Revival structure originally built by Mathew Marshall, a prominent blacksmith in the County. There are forests, fields & meadows surrounding the complex where wildlife abound. Visitors can view deer, wild turkey & rabbit roaming the grounds from their room windows and farm animals in the barnyard. Spring is a magical time at Vintage East. There are 100-year-old lilacs blooming in light blue, white and purple and the lilac fragrance is everywhere. Fall is equally beautiful with foliage showing bright red and yellow. And bird watching doesnt get any better than at Vintage East. The views are beautiful from Vintage East, especially in winter. You can see the Green Mountains of Vermont to the North, the Taconics and the Berkshires of Massachussetts to the East and Frederic Churchs castle, Olana, to the West. You can even see the many church steeples of the City of Hudson rising through the forest canopy below.RECREATION: There are several nearby golf coarses and three major ski slopes within 30 to 45 minutes. Go horseback riding at nearby stables or hiking in the Catskill, Berkshire and Taconic Mountains. There are plenty of quiet country roads for biking. Fishing is a big sport in the area from fly fishing for Trout and Bass to fishing the Hudson for Strippers. Hunting is a big sport in the area and skeet shooting has become popular at several local locations. There is boating, water skiing and kayaking on the Hudson River with many lakes also available within easy driving distances. And Antiquing in Hudson also provides much recreation with 80 plus antique shops in the area. There are museums such as Olana (seen off the front porch) home to the famed Hudson Rier School painter Frederic Church, the Firemans Museum in Hudson or take a drive to the Shaker Museum. There are local Hudson River Mansions open to the public such as Clermont, Olana, Van Allen, Thomas Cole and Martin Van Buren.
